Talen Horton-Tucker scored 33 points as Lakers beat Clippers

What a night for young Los Angeles Lakers guard Talen Horton-Tucker. Horton-Tucker, selected by the Lakers with the No. 46 pick in the 2019 draft, exploded in game vs. Clippers and showed great potential.
Asked about his performance in this preseason game, Horton-Tucker said: “I feel like just coming with me using my defensive instincts and being able to compete on the defensive end it’s going to be something when we get on the court.”
In 41 minutes on the court, Horton-Tucker sowed much and he used opportunity due LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Wesley Matthews and Dennis Schroder had a night off.
Just after the game, LeBron James wrote on his Instagram profile: “I tried to tell y’all. Lil bro cold man. Keep coming Talen Horton-Tucker.”
Asked about 33-point performance of Horton-Tucker, one of the Los Angeles legends, Derek Fischer said: “It’s hard to say in game situations and in preseason. I think the comments from teammates and coaches tell a little more,” Fisher said on Spectrum SportsNet. “30 points in preseason game if you are playing 30 plus minutes… everybody in the NBA can play. So I don’t to get all the hype on the stats. But when you hear his teammates are not just hyping him up and he can it up. His coaches are not just talking about him in the way and it’s just noise. This young man can really play basketball, and I think it’s catching everyone off guard because we didn’t get to see him a lot last year.”
Los Angeles Lakers’ head coach Frank Vogel said: “We have a very deep team. No minutes are guaranteed. If he keeps playing at a high level, that should push everyone else to play at a high level.”
