Serbia topped Slovakia in Game 3 of Qualifications
Serbia played bit better in today’s game as they won in Game 3 of Qualifications for EuroBasket 2013 against Slovakia.
Even Serbian roster is much better, in first 15 minutes Slovakian National team played much better and I was thinking that this will be another terrible game for Serbia.
But, then after 15 minutes, Serbian players started to play much better and with much more energy, like they just woke-up.
30-15 for Serbia in second quarter was crucial for this game. In second half again some ups and downs as Serbia won third quarter with 23-13, but lost last one with 19-14.
All this was enough to secure win 93-71 and relax little bit after unexpected loss against Montenegro just few days ago in Belgrade Arena.
If I am on Coach Dusan Ivkovic’s place I wouldn’t be satisfied with this game and win. There are still a lot of problems in Serbian game, and as Dusan Ivkovic said: “We need to improve our game when Milos Teodosic is on the bench.”
It is quite true, even I believe that this is not the only one problem for Serbian team. Pretty weak defense and problems under baskets are big problems as well.
Team captain Nenad Krstic is back, and he helped his teammates in this game with 14 points. Milos Teodosic led Serbian team with 15 points, Nemanja Bjelica added 11 points.
Next game, Serbia will play against Estonia. Game will be played August 24 at 20.30 CET in Novi Sad. This shouldn’t be tough game for Serbia, but if these problems remain, every game could be possible problem for Serbian National team.
