Panathinaikos wins in Game 1 against Maccabi Electra

panathinaikos vs. maccabi electra

Match-up expected to be the most interesting one in Turkish Airlines Euroleague Playoffs, started pretty good for Panathinaikos and their coach Zeljko Obradovic.

I am sure that no one expected such an easy win for Panathinaikos in Game 1. Maccabi Electra looked pretty useless in this game, and all their efforts Panathinaikos players stopped without big problems.

Final score 93:73, by quarters 28:18, 27:16, 24:18, 14:21. Team of coach David Blatt actually had no chance. If you see results by quarters you will see how dominant Panathinaikos was last night.

We will see what will David Blatt prepare for Game 2 tomorrow, but he must change a lot of things if he believe that they can surprise Panathinaikos.

Zeljko Obradovic, for a years one of the best European coaches, prepared this game well, and defeated coach David Blatt in all fields.

OAKA Arena was crowded with about 18.000 Panathinaikos fans, and I am sure that same situation will be tomorrow as well. Great support could be a key for another one win for Panathinaikos.

In Panathinaikos, Dimitris Diamantidis scored 15 points and added 8 assists, Nick Calathes scored 13 points and grabbed 8 rebounds.

In Maccabi Electra. Keith Langford scored 21 points, Devin Smith added 17 points and 6 rebounds.

Panathinaikos won battle under baskets with 35 rebounds, since Maccabi Electra had 27. Maccabi Electra had 18 turnovers, Panathinaikos 15.

Looking forward to watch Game 2 tomorrow, and especially games 3 and 4 which will be played in Nokia Arena in Tel Aviv.
