Nenad Krstic extends contract with CSKA Moscow
After numerous speculations and rumors, Nenad Krstic decided to stay in Moscow as he signed new contract with Russian powerhouse CSKA Moscow.
There were a lot of rumors in different media that Nenad Krstic will be back to NBA league and that are several teams interested in signing him.
One statement was the funniest as Krstic stated that he even has no idea that he will be back to NBA league. In other rumors, even coach Ettore Messina said that Krstic will not stay with CSKA.
So, now it is clear, Nenad Krstic team captain of National team of Serbia, will spend at least two more seasons with CSKA Moscow with option to extend until 2014-15.
Nenad Krstic is 212 cm tall, 28 years old. He was chosen to the All-Euroleague first team last season, averaging 14.2 points and 5.5 rebounds in 22 games.
He named the 2011-12 Euroleague bwin MVP for November and earned weekly bwin MVP honors twice – in regular season Game 9 and in Top 16 Game 3.
Krstic said: “I am happy to stay in the best club in Europe, to try to take CSKA back to the Euroleague Final Four and help the team to win domestic competitions. I had no doubt about staying.”
He continues: “I realized that my system of values turned dramatically towards my family, the Serbian national team.”
At this moment, Nenad Krstic is with National team of Serbia on preparation for Qualification for EuroBasket 2013 in Slovenia.
Even slightly injured, he will not start with practices, but he will be there to support his teammates and it says a lot about him and his great character.
