According to rumors from Greece and Serbia, Igor Kokoskov is main candidate to take over Panathinakos after Zeljko Obradovic decided to leave club after 13 years.

Serbian Basketball coach spent several seasons in NBA league as Assistant coach in several teams: Los Angeles Clippers, Detroit Pistons and Phoenix Suns.

Igor Kokoskov is currently coach of National team of Georgia. However, even if these rumors are true, it won’t be easy after Zeljko Obradovic.

In his career, beside NBA league, Igor Kokoskov was an assistant coach of Serbian national team at Olympic games in Athens, Greece 2004. At 2005, at European Championships he assisted to Zeljko Obradovic.

Kokoskov had pretty successful time as coach of National team of Georgia as team advanced to the second round of the 2011 European Championships and was among the final 12 teams.

It will be interesting to see if this rumor will be confirmed in next few days. It would be great honor for this Serbian coach.
