Game 4 of 2012-13 Eurocup Last 16
Today, with only one game, competition in Last 16 phase in Eurocup will continue. Seven more games will be played tomorrow, Wednesday, January 30.
With Game 4, we entering the decisive part of Last 16 and I am sure that we will enjoy pretty much in coming games.
Game 4 starts with a big all-Spanish showdown in Group J, as Valencia Baskets hosts Uxue Bilbao Basket at 20:30 CET.
Both teams faced each other in a Spanish League game three weeks ago and Valencia beat Bilbao 113-111 in overtime, so expect another huge showdown this time around.
After three played games in Last 16, the only still undefeated team is PBC Lokomotiv Kuban. This detail also show us how good and pretty equalized is this competition.
Buducnost VOLI with 2-1 record is at the top of Group I. Tomorrow, Buducnost VOLI will host Budivelnik Kiev. Buducnost already beat Budivelnik in Kiev, so a 2-0 record would boost its chances to return to the Eurocup Quarterfinals.
My favorite team in this comeptition, Crvena Zvezda Telekom is in pretty tough situation. After great start in Last 16 and road win against Ratiopharm Ulm, Crvena Zvezda Telekom lost twice, against Galatasaray Medical Park and Unics Kazan.
Tomorrow at 19.30 CET, Crvena Zvezda Telekom will host Unics Kazan and try to stay in race. If they lose in this game, I am pretty sure that this competition will be over for team from Belgrade.
Last week, Unics Kazan defeated Crvena Zvezda Telekom 78-59 in not so good game for Red and whites. Hopefully, they learned some from this game.
In meantime, Crvena Zvezda Telekom signed Predrag Samardziski, 216 cm tall center, who came from Lithuania where he played for Lietuvos Rytas.
Two days ago, Crvena Zvezda Telekom wins over MZT Skopje in Game 19 in ABA Adriatic league with 87-72, and hopefully it is good sign that they came out from short crisis they had.
