FIBA say yes to Great Britain National teams

March 13th was a Day-D for Great Britain’s Basketball. Both men’s and women’s Great Britain’s national teams will compete in the next Summer Olympic Games on Basketball Tournament at the 2012 London, after FIBA granted them automatic places. The decision came at FIBA’s central board meeting on Sunday.

FIBA central board voted with 16-4 in favour of Great Britain taking its place at next year’s Olympics. But the board reiterated the need for British Basketball and the federations of England, Scotland and Wales to work towards proving their commitment to grow the game by figuring out the best model to govern the sport.

This decision made a lot of positive but also negative discussions in Basketball world. You are welcome to express your opinion in comment box.
