This tournament is special as it marks the first time a team from Oceania, the Tasmania JackJumpers, will participate in the competition.

The six teams are divided into two groups, with pool play running from September 12-14, followed by the placement games on September 15. The defending Basketball Champions League winners, Unicaja, are considered one of the favorites.
