Dusan Ivkovic named 24 players for Eurobasket 2013 qualifications
As it is announced today, Dusan Ivkovic Head coach of Serbian National team named 24 players for preparation for Eurobasket 2013 qualifications.
This list of 24 names will be narrowed at June 25, when Dusan Ivkovic will choose 18 names to continue with preparation phase. It will be interesting to see narrowed list.
First game in Eurobasket 2013 qualifications phase, National team of Serbia will play at August 14 against Iceland in away game. In Group A, there are also Estonia, Slovakia, Montenegro and Israel.
Following players are on the preliminary list of 24 names:
Guards: Milos Teodosic (CSKA Moscow), Stefan Markovic (Valencia), Milenko Tepic (Cajasol), Aleksandar Rasic (Lietuvos Rytas), Danilo Andjusic (Partizan mt:s), Nemanja Jaramaz (Partizan mt:s), Nemanja Nedovic (Crvena zvezda Diva);
Forwards: Ivan Paunic (Virtus Bologna), Mladen Jeremic (Hemofarm), Marko Keselj (Olympiacos), Andreja Milutinovic (Crvena zvezda Diva), Nemanja Bjelica (Caja Laboral), Vladimir Lucic (Partizan mt:s), Novica Velickovic (Real Madrid), Dusko Savanovic (Anadolu Efes), Zoran Erceg (Besiktas Milangaz), Milan Macvan (Maccabi/Partizan mt:s), Dragan Labovic (Krasnye Krila);
Centers: Nenad Krstic (CSKA Moscow), Kosta Perovic (FC Barcelona Regal), Milovan Rakovic (Zalgiris), Miroslav Raduljica (Anadolu Efes/Partizan mt:s), Dejan Musli (Caja Laboral), Mile Ilic (Crvena zvezda Diva).
Of course, as it is typical for Basketball country as Serbia is, there are always complaints about names, and who should be there and it is not.
I am sure that Dusan Ivkovic knows what he doing and that he invited players who deserves that in this season, and of course players who already had significant impact in National team.
It will be interesting to follow preparation phase, testing games and to see finally narrowed list of players who will represent Serbia at Qualifications phase for Eurobasket 2013.
