Just few days after they released Serbian center Kosta Perovic, FC Barcelona Regal signed Croatian center Ante Tomic.

Quite unexpected move as FC Barcelona Regal signed Ante Tomic for period of three years with an option to extend his contract until the end of 2015-16 season.

Ante Tomic was born 1987, he is 217 cm tall and played for archrivals Real Madrid. In last season in Turkish Airlines Euroleague, he averaged 6.7 points and 3.7 rebounds.

During two and half seasons with Real Madrid, Ante Tomic helped them to reach the 2011 Euroleague Final Four and win the 2012 Spanish King’s Cup.

Ante Tomic played for several teams in his native Croatia, Dubrovnik, Zadar and Zagreb. During the time when he played for Zagreb he became star as he was among the Adriatic League leaders in scoring and rebounding.

He is also member of Croatian National team, and at EuroBasket 2011 in Lithuania, he led Croatia as the best scorer with 16.6 points per game. He was also the best rebounder in Croatian National team with 6.2 rebounds per game.
