Another loss for Red Star Belgrade

In “Game of the week” of week 3 in ABA Adriatic league, Union Olimpija beat Red Star Belgrade as a guests.

Final score 93:101, by quarters 34:34, 22:27, 26:17, 11:23.

Interesting game, where Union Olimpija played excellent game in first 20 minutes, and not so good in second half but still enough to beat Red and Whites.

If you just check final score 93:101 and look at some statistic details, you will also realize that both teams didn’t play much of defense. Especially Red Star. I just don’t understand philosophy of Head coach Svetislav Pesic. How the hell he expect to win against one of the teams who compete in Euroleague and let them score over 100 points?

Adam Morrison of Red Star scored 30 points, but again, he didn’t play defense at all. Bojan Subotic added 16 and Mile Ilic 10 points.

For Union Olimpija Sasu Salin scored 23, and Ratko Varda added 16. Olimpija had a such great percentage 62,5% for 3 points and 70,4% for 2 points.

Looking forward for another one great match tomorrow, when Partizan mt:s will host Radnicki Kragujevac.
