ABA Adriatic league 2012-13, Game 16 preview

aba adriatic league

With six games tomorrow, Saturday, January 5, Game 16 in ABA Adriatic league will start. Another one game will be played at Sunday, January 6.

After two weeks break, we are ready for new excitements in this competition. This week will bring us several very good games.

Action starts tomorrow with four games starting at 17.00 CET.

Szolnoki Olaj vs. Siroki Wwin

Derby of last two teams at this moment. Both teams in pretty difficult situation since they are at the bottom of ABA Adriatic league standings.

Ivan Velic, coach of Siroki Wwin resigned after Game 15 after pretty bad start of season. In meantime, Siroki Wwin appointed ex Assistant coach Damir Vujanovic as Head coach and signed two players.

One of the best players of Siroki Wwin, Darko Planinic left club and signed with Maccabi Electra. Siroki Wwin signed Rashaun Freeman and Johnathon Jones.

MZT Skopje vs. Buducnost VOLI

One of games in this weeks which is expected to be very interesting. After pretty bad start of season, after 15 played games, MZT Skopje is at position 5 with 9-6 record and one of the most positive surprises.

After Coach Ales Pipan signed with club, things turned for 360 defrees, and team began to play much better from game to game.

Buducnost VOLI with 8-7 record will try to surprise MZT Skopje in this game and reach important win. In just few days, Buducnost VOLI will start competition in Last 16 phase in Eurocup against BC Triumph Lyubertsy.

Cedevita vs. Split

Cedevita is team that had many changes after Christmas. Mickael Gelabale and Marques Green left the team. Derwin Kitchen and Ante Masic arrived.

Kitchen arrived from Panathinakos on loan, since Ante Masic came from Cibona Zagreb. Ante Masic is player of National team of Bosnia and Herzegovina and will work in Cedevita with Aleksandar Petrovic who is coach of National team of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Split survived terrible financial crisis and we will see if it will be enough to successfully finish this season. After 15 games, Split has 6-9 record and Cedevita 9-6.

Igokea vs. Radnicki Kragujevac

In Game of the Week, Igokea will host Radnicki Kragujevac. Igokea current leader in ABA Adriatic league with great 12-3 record will try to use home court and win Radnicki Kragujevac.

Radnicki Kragujevac signed two players, Milos Dimic who came from Radnicki Basket and signed until 2017, and Kyle Wisser who played in Germany and Italy after NCAA career.

Coach Miroslav Nikolic has tough goal to save season in ABA Adriatic league but as well to try to win Serbian National Cup which will be played in Kragujevac.

At this moment, Radnicki Kragujevac hold position 7 with 8-7 record.

Union Olimpija vs. Crvena Zvezda Telekom

Another one great game, and also candidate for Game of the Week. Union Olimpija will host Crvena Zvezda Telekom, but even they play at home it will be tough goal for Union Olimpija.

Crvena Zvezda Telekom signed Ali Traore and fortified frontcourt. They will also start Last 16 phase in Eurocup in just few days, and they have big expectations. At this moment, they are at position 2 with 10-5 record.

Union Olimpija released Dominic Waters and will be interesting to see what they can do against Crvena Zvezda Telekom in this game. At this moment they are at position 8 with 8-7 record. This game will start at 19.00 CET.

Partizan mt:s vs. Cibona

Another one game which will bring us great Basketball, and I am sure great excitements. Partizan mt:s is currently at position 3 with 10-5 record.

They released Danilo Andjusic after he expressed disappointment with his status in team. Andjusic still didn’t decide where he will continue his career. In meantime, Partizan mt:s signed Joffrey Lauvergne who came from Valencia Basket.

Cibona is in pretty tough situation since they are unexpectedly at position 9 with 6-9 record. They lost Ante Masic who signed with Cedevita.

I am sure that we can expect great game in Pionir Sport hall in Belgrade, and if you ask me, I would tip for Partizan mt:s. Game will start at 21.00 CET.

Zadar vs. Krka

The only one game which will be played at Sunday, January 6. Zadar will host Krka and try to improve its record which is currently 6-9.

Krka is in even worst situation, as they hold position 12 with 5-10 record, and need win to escape from the bottom. Even I think it will be an tough goal for Krka in this game.

Funny thing, I found this morning in papers that Fans of Zadar were scared after their best players Romeo Travis didn’t show up at the time after Christmas break. It seems that everything is ok, and Travis will stay in Zadar.
