Zeljko Lukajic in Ukraine

zeljko lukajic

Zeljko Lukajic who left Hemofarm bench about two weeks ago, didn’t wait too long for new engagement. Lukajic signed new contract with BC Politehnika Halychyna until end of season 2012/2013.

His assistant will be his assistant from Hemofarm, Dusan Gvozdic. Gvozdic refuses to take over Hemofarm when Lukajic resigned. Gvozdic is  also one of coaches from Serbian National team.

Lukajic’s new team have a pretty bad season, they are at the last place in Ukrainian Basketball league with terrible score of only 3 wins and even 23 losses.

As Lukajic stated reason why he signed with BC Politehnika Halychyna is to try to save this season but to start building the team for the next season as well.

This is the best option that one coach can get. Building team is great job, not much pressure, scouting, planning, individual improvements, etc…

Lukajic was also one of candidates for Bosnia and Herzegovina National team bench but as we already wrote, this position got Aleksandar Aco Petrovic, one of the best Croatian coaches.

I would like to wish all the best to Lukajic with his new team, and I hope so that we will have good news from Ukraine.
