Of course, many fans still rate Kobe Bryant and LeBron James as current contenders for the crown that is still very much worn by Michael Jordan. But there is no doubt about it, Curry is exciting to watch. He is also picking up records and plaudits as he goes along. Last season he was voted most valuable player (MVP) and earlier this year he became the first player in the NBA to score a three-point shot in 128 consecutive games.

There is no doubt that it’s his shooting skills which make Curry stand out from the crowd. He is well on his way to breaking Ray Allen’s career record of 2,973 games scoring a three-point shot. The fact is that this prowess has changed the fortunes of Golden State Warriors and turned them into a championship winning team.

There seems to be no doubt that Curry is up there with the greats when it comes to talent, but he also has one other major bonus about him. At a time when many sportsmen have featured in unsavory sports news items Curry is an excellent role model. He is married to his childhood sweetheart Ayesha and the couple has two daughters, Riley and Ryan.

Curry also shows true sportsmanship on the court and he displays a humility that the public loves. Taking all of this into account, is Curry the greatest? The jury seems to be out on that question right now but there is certainly an argument to say that he is, or that he could be if his career continues on the same trajectory.
