Significant changes in Crvena Zvezda Diva
After pretty bad or better say terrible start in ABA Adriatic league, with score of only one win and four losses, Crvena Zvezda Diva decided to terminate contract with Morris Almond.
Just two weeks ago, Crvena Zvezda Diva fired Coach Milivoje Lazic and appointed Vlada Vukoicic as new Head coach.
About ten days ago, Filip Covic player of Crvena Zvezda Diva and son of Crvena Zvezda Diva president, Nebojsa Covic, left club because of high pressure he felt.
This is expected situation in Crvena Zvezda Diva as they started this season with high ambitions, but after 5 games in ABA Adriatic league they are at the bottom of standings.
Morris Almond who came in Crvena Zvezda Diva with pedigree of great scorer, didn’t show much, or let me say, didn’t show anything.
In 5 games he averaged 6 points and 3.6 rebounds per game, with percentage of 38%. For someone who played in NBA Development league where he was best scorer, this is nothing.
I am sure that this is not the end of re-structuring since president of Crvena Zvezda Diva, Nobojsa Covic said that Crvena Zvezda Diva is not milking cow and that no one can expect just to receive salaries and do nothing.
Fans of Crvena Zvezda Diva are also pretty much disappointed with current situation and bad results but they see this situation bit different.
Most of them blame Nebojsa Covic for bad strategy, wrong moves, bad scouting, signing of players who are not good enough for highest goals.
After optimistic announcements that they will be competitive in all competitions and chase all trophies, Crvena Zvezda Diva, 20 days before start of competition in Eurocup made some cuts but as I can see without clear vision for future.
However, it is getting more and more interesting, and I looking forward to see what will happen next in Crvena Zvezda Diva.
