Serbia wins bronze at U18 Women European Championship
Another great success of Serbian Basketball as U18 National Women team of Serbia wins Bronze medal at U18 European Championship in Romania.
With this great result, Serbian National team also qualified to U19 Women World Championship which will be played next year in Lithuania.
In Bronze medal game, Serbia topped Netherlands with final score of 59:46 and proved its quality once again.
At half time Serbia already had +22 as score was 39:17 and it was obvious that they will reach another one great result with this generation of young and talented players.
Aleksandra Stanacev led Serbia with 15 points, Natasa Kovacevic and Sanja Mandic added 11 points each.
Zoran Kovacic, Coach of Serbian Women U18 team said: We didn’t expect that we will reach this win so easily. But, after great performance especially in first half, this win is deserved.”
He continues: “Before we came to Championship we said that goal is one of the medals. Even this is great success, we are sad that we didn’t win Silver or even Gold. We had our chances against Russia in Semifinal.”
Kovacic also added: “This is great generation, and we have 4-5 players who will play in Senior National team in close future, and it is the most important thing.”
