In excellent game in sold out OAKA Arena in Athens, Panathinaikos wins over Maccabi Electra 86:85 and booked last ticket for Final 4 in Istanbul.

With this game, Turkish Airlines Euroleague Playoffs phase is over and all four contestants for Final 4 are known.

In Istanbul, Turkey, May 11 – 13 we will watch FC Barcelona Regal, CSKA Moscow, Olympiacos and Panathinaikos.

Two teams from Greece, one from Spain and one from Russia. Quite unexpected, since many people believed that we will watch at least one team from Turkey.

Of course, as I already said in previous article, it is sad that Maccabi Electra will not play in Final 4. This was the toughest Match-up in Playoffs phase.

I really enjoyed in watching this game, and especially in last few minutes, where Panathinaikos had +9 in 2:30 before the end of game.

But, Maccabi Electra didn’t give up and they tied score in just few seconds before the end. Diamantidis scored 1 from 2 from free-throw line 4.5 seconds before the end of game, and it was +1 for Panathinaikos.

Maccabi Electra had 4.5 seconds, but they did nothing. Aggressive defense of Panathinaikos and game was over.

For Panathinaikos, Dimitris Diamantidis scored 25 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Sarunas Jasikevicius scored 13 points.

In Maccabi Electra, David Blu scored 14 points, Keith Langford added 11 points and Yogev Ohayon and Tal Burstein scored 10 points each.

Congratulations to Panathinaikos, and looking forward for Turkish Airlines Euroleague Final 4 in Istanbul. Stay with us.
