One of the most interesting contests on Olympic Games in London will be Basketball tournament in both competitions, Women’s and Men’s.

Opening ceremony of Olympic Games 2012 is today, but Basketball tournament will start tomorrow, Saturday, July 28 in Women’s competition and at Sunday, July 29 in Men’s competition.

It is expected that both tournaments will be very interesting and exciting as there are many good National teams qualified for Olympic Games.

Few words about system of competition. Teams have been drawn into two groups for the preliminary rounds and will play each other in their respective groups, before the top four teams from each group move on to the quarter-final stage.

In Men’s competition we will see following countries divided in two groups:

Group A:

Argentina, France, Tunisia, United States, Nigeria, Lithuania.

Group B:

Argentina, France, Tunisia, United States, Nigeria, Lithuania.

So, when you see contestants, it is obvious that all we Basketball fans will enjoy so much in every game.

Of course, the main candidates for Gold medal are United States with their “Dream team”, but we will see if they will be superb on tournament as it is expected.

In Women’s competition 12 countries are also divided in two groups:

Group A:

Angola, China, Croatia, Czech Republic, Turkey, United States.

Group B:

Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Great Britain, Russia.
