Neptunas Klaipeda team which finished 6th in Lithuanian basketball league (LKL) last season start building their team with a head coach. The team announced signing of young coach Kazys Maksvytis.

Kazys Maksvytis is current head coach of Lithuanian U-20 national team which is preparing for the European championship that will be held in Slovenia this July.

He had had successful run with youngsters, coaching the core of current team since players were 15 years old.

All these years they participated in 4 tournaments and won them all being led by Lithuanian senior national team’s candidate and Toronto Raptors last year’s 5th draft pick Jonas Valanciunas.

“The club is very ambitious and has really big goals. Last few years show that management of this team is going to the right way”, said the specialist.

According to him, team will start building their roster about a month later – when U-20 European championship will be over.

Neptunas is going to compete in VTB United league’s qualification tournament which may take place in Klaipeda. The team and league itself are showing great interest in it.
