National team of Serbia in big troubles
After Dusan Ivkovic announced preliminary squad in early June, he couldn’t guess that he will have so many problems to build roster for EuroBasket 2013 in Slovenia.
After several players said that for different reasons they will not show up at the beginning fo preparation, coach Dusan Ivkovic currently working with only 11 players.
Tomorrow, National team of Serbia will travel to Kranjska Gora in Slovenia for second phase of their preparation for EuroBasket 2013.
Vasilije Micic and Nemanja Nedovic will join National team. Vasilije Micic had few days off after U19 FIBA World Championship.
Nemanja Nedovic got injured in NBA summer camp, and it is still unknown if he will be able to start with practices immediately. According to informations, his injury is not serious and hopefully he will be ready.
Coach Dusan Ivkovic is very disappointed with this situation as he said: “We have never had such a situation, I just wanted to have the best players.”
He continues: “I couldn’t imagine that we will start preparation for EuroBasket 2013 in Slovenia with only 11 players.”
However, very tough situation for Serbian National team, but hopefully things will be better in coming days as some of players from young National teams will join preparations.
