Lithuanian national team at the moment is preparing for Olympic qualification tournament, which will be held in Venezuela.

Even though team has 15 players in its current roster, one of the main players in recent years, Simas Jasaitis is being injured.

His chances to play in the qualification tournament are doubtful. As Lithuanian media reports, there’s less than 50% possibility that 30 years old 201 cm tall small forward will be able to play for the national team.

The Lithuanian is feeling pain in his left knee, but leg isn’t getting any better. This summer team Simas Jasaitis played only one game, when he scored 4 points in 17 minutes in match-up against Macedonia.

The injured player recently has signed a contract with Russian team Lokomotiv-Kuban of Krasnodar.

We remind you that Olympic qualification tournament starts on July 2. In group B Lithuania will have to face Nigeria and the hosts of the tournament – Venezuela.
