One of my favorite Serbian coaches, Aleksandar Trifunovic has been fired by Lietuvos Rytas.

Reason of this is a lost from VEF Riga in BBL semifinal game. Also not so good results in domestic championship in last few games.

Hmm, when Trifunovic came to Rytas this season, he had a really tough goal, to try to qualify to top 16 phase of Euroleague despite pretty bad results of Rytas until that time.

He did it, Rytas qualified and played very good in top 16 phase. They were in a group with Panathinaikos and Caja Laboral and it was hard to expect to go even further in Playoffs.

Successor of Trifunovic will be Darius Maskoliunas, who was Trifunovic’s assistant in last period.

As one of my friend coaches says: “As a coach, your bags are always packed and you must be ready to go any moment. People in club boards are persons who decide about your future. Sometimes I feel like a puppet on a string.”
