eurocup basketball

After one week break in Eurocup competition because of National Cups were played around the Europe, we are getting back on the track.

Things getting more and more interesting in Eurocup Last 16 phase, as we entering in Game 5, decisive Game for many of teams in this competition.

After four played games in Last 16 phase, there is only one team undefeated, PBC Lokomotiv Kuban, and they are already qualified to next stage.

Beside PBC Lokomotiv Kuban, Spartak St. Petersburg also qualified with 3-1 record. Both teams play in Group K. In this group there won’t be any new surprises. Situation is clear.

Action starts with three games on Tuesday, including both showdowns in Group J. At 18:30 CET, VEF Riga (3-1) hosts Valencia Basket (2-2) in the Latvian capital, while one hour later, Czech champ CEZ Basketball Nymburk (1-3) takes Uxue Bilbao Basket (2-2) of Spain.

Tomorrow five more games, and two of special interest, at least for me. In Group I, Buduncost VOLI is currently on position 2 with 2-2 record.

But, in just few days ago, they surprised their fans with failure in Montenegrin Cup as they lost for the first time in last 5 years.

We will see if this will have any negative effect on Buducnost VOLI, as they expect very tough road game against Triumph Lyubertsy.

Yesterday, Crvena Zvezda Telekom won Radivoj Korac Cup after a lot of problems, as we wrote here. This could be a great additional motivation for Red and whites as they expect very important game at home against Ratiopharm Ulm.

In first game in Last 16 phase, Crvena Zvezda Telekom wins over Ratiopharm Ulm in road game, so all we expect that they will win again at home.

It will be interesting how much energy they saved after Final game in Radivoj Korac Cup, but I believe that Crvena Zvezda Telekom will use this positive energy from National Cup to beat Ratiopharm Ulm.
