Fenerbahce Ulker signed Mike Batiste to a one-year deal
After nine years spent in Greece where he played for Panathinaikos, time has come for Mike Batiste to change club. He decided to move to Istanbul and play for Fenerbahce Ulker.
With nine years spent with Panathinaikos, Mike Batiste won three Euroleague titles and reached the Final Four on five occasions.
In last season of Turkish Airlines Euroleague, Mike Batiste averaged 9.7 points and 4.6 rebounds, even he only played 21 minutes per game to help lead the team to the Final Four.
Known as undisputed fighter, he always gave his maximum on the court and helped his team as much as possible.
He won eight Greek Championships and six Greek Cups during his time in Panathinaikos. I am sure that they will miss him pretty much.
After coach Zeljko Obradovic decided to not stay anymore as Panathinaikos Head coach, most of players also decided to leave.
It will be interesting if Panathinaikos will be competitive enough for another one good season in Turkish Airlines Euroleague and domestic Greek Championship.
If you ask me, not even close. But, lets see, maybe I am wrong and it wouldn’t be the first time.
