Deron Williams 57 points vs. Charlotte Bobcats
Last night New Jersey Nets topped Charlotte Bobcats 104:101. Deron Williams led his team with scoring a franchise-record 57 points.
That’s the most points scored in the NBA this season, but how the things going I won’t be surprised if we see some more records until the end of this season.
Only one player scored more points over Charlotte Bobcats, Kobe Bryant scored 58 in 2006. Before this game, Deron Williams had 21.7 points per game.
In this game, beside perfect score from free-throw line 21/21, he had 16/29 from the field.
According to media, Deron Williams was quite surprised when his teammates told him at the end of third quarter that he already scored 39 points. Even, I don’t believe in this story, but, oh well.
Deron Williams said: “You really don’t pay attention to it, it’s just one of those games where you start feeling good and let it go.”
To this great record Williams added 6 rebounds and 7 assists, and he was quite surprised that they didn’t double-team on him.
Paul Silas apologized after game about defense on Deron Williams and tried to explain his team’s approach in guarding Deron Williams.
Paul Silas said: “You can do one of two things: you can try to stop him and double him and leave other players wide open or guard everybody.”
