Since Anadolu Efes lost all chances to qualify to Playoffs, in Anadolu Efes decided to release coach Ufuk Sarica and appoint Ilias Zouros as new Head coach.

One game left before end of Top 16 phase in Turkish Airlines Euroleague, Anadolu Efes is at the last fourth place in Group E without chances to reach Playoffs.

Despite large investments in this team at the beginnig of the season and expectations that their team will reach Final 4 of Turkish Airlines Euroleague, people in Anadolu Efes are pretty disappointed.

New coach, Ilias Zouros, started this season at the Zalgiris bench but been fired after opening game in this season of Turkish Airlines Euroleague against CSKA Moscow.

Zouros won Baltic league Lithuanian championship in last season with Zalgiris. Named Eurocup “Coach of the year” during his role with Panellinios.

Beside Panellinios, Ilias Zouros coached Olympiacos, Peristeri and Aris in Greece. He also led Sagesse Beirut to Lebanese League title and the Asian Club Championship.

Zouros also coached Paris Racing Basket in France.

According to statement from club, Ufuk Sarica will stay with Anadolu Efes. It is not known on what position.
