Aleks Maric signed contract with Lokomotiv Kuban
Aleks Maric decided that two years in Panathinaikos was enough, so he decided to move in Russia as he signed contract with Lokomotiv Kuban from Krasnodar.
Last season in Panathinaikos he had limited role and he averaged 3.8 points and 2.6 rebounds in 21 Turkish Airlines Euroleague games. He helped the Greens to win the Greek Cup title and reach the Final Four.
Obviously, last season wasn’t the best one for Aleks Maric. Probably, his best season, and season which launched him to Euroleague stars, was 2009-10 when he played for Partizan mt:s.
In that season, Aleks Maric averaged 14.6 points and 8.4 rebounds in 18 Euroleague games and was one of the best players for Partizan mt:s as he helped them to reach Euroleague Final four.
In this fantastic season Aleks Maric also won the Adriatic League, Serbian League and Serbian Cup titles together.
At this moment, Aleks Maric is in London on Olympic Games, as he will play for National team of Australia and it is expected that he could be the main player in Australian team.
Evgeny Pashutin Head Coach of Lokomotiv Kuban said: “He know how to play with his back to the basket and is very effective in the paint. I believe he will help us to be more confident under the rims.”
