Aleksandar Aco Petrovic, Head coach of Cedevita Zagreb, named as a “Coach of the year” in Eurocup.

Hoops Universe would like to congratulate to Coach Petrovic, because we really believe that Aco deserves this honor.

Cedevita Zagreb just qualified for Eurocup Final Four which will be played in Treviso, Italy, April 16-17.

I am sure that even the biggest optimists in Croatian Basketball didn’t believe that Cedevita can go that far. Coach Petrovic did a really great job and we hope so that Cedevita will play finals at least.

One interesting thing. Coach Aco Petrovic resigned from Head coaching position of Cedevita after loss from Zadar in Kresimir Cosic Cup (Croatian National Cup). Zadar played that game even without foreign players, with half of the team with juniors, but they won against Cedevita. Coach Petrovic resigned after that game, because they felt that Cedevita lost due his faults. Just two days later, after talks with Cedevita president and board members, after he got maximal support, Coach Petrovic decided to keep coaching Cedevita. It seems that this was very good decision.

Last summer there were some rumors that Aco Petrovic might coach National team of Bosnia and Herzegovina, but of course as a lot of previous rumors in Bosnian Basketball, this was not true.

We wish Coach Petrovic and Cedevita Zagreb all the best in coming Eurocup Final Four.
