Rumors, rumors, rumors. More rumors coming everyday, and the newest one is that there is possibility that Maccabi Electra won’t play in ABA Adriatic league in next season.

President of ABA Adriatic league, Radovan Lorbek is quite skeptical that we will see Maccabi Electra in next season of ABA Adriatic league, even they have three-years contract.

According to Radovan Lorbek, reason is pretty simple: “Turkish Airlines Euroleague has changed system of competition and from next season, they will have even 8 games more in Top 16 phase.”

Of course, it is expected that Maccabi Electra will be there in Top 16 because of their quality, good team, good budget, high expectations.

Radovan Lorbek continues: “We have very good relations with Maccabi Electra, we will talk again about everything, but I believe that chances are pretty small to see them in next season of ABA Adriatic league.”

He also added: “If Maccabi Electra leave competition, we will probably not invite any other teams who are not from this region.”

In case that Maccabi Electra decide to not compete anymore in ABA Adriatic league, Serbia will have four teams again. If you ask me I believe that it is not fair.

Even I am big fan of Serbian Basketball, they didn’t deserve to have four teams after terrible season for Serbian teams in this season of ABA Adriatic league.

Let me remind you that Hemofarm Stada is currently at 12th place of 14 teams in ABA Adriatic league with terrible score of only 7 wins and 18 losses. Crvena Zvezda Diva is currently at position 10 with score of 11 wins and 14 losses. Radnicki is currently at position 7 with score of 12 wins and 13 losses.

Partizan mt:s as the best Serbian team will compete in ABA Adriatic league Final 4 in Tel Aviv. But it is not reason that Serbia have four teams again. I would rather send invitation to any other country from region.

Another one thing. If Maccabi Electra decide to not take part in next season of ABA Adriatic league, I would change place for Final 4. It is not fair that Final 4 will be played in Tel Aviv.
