ABA Adriatic league 2013-14, Game 7 recap
Finally, Union Olimpija reached its first win in ABA Adriatic league regular season. They needed even seven games to grab first win. Not sure if it means that they will start playing better in upcoming games.
After seven played games, Partizan NIS is leader with 6-1 record, three teams from 2nd to 4th place have identical 5-2 record, Crvena Zvezda Telekom, Buducnost VOLI and Cedevita.
Zadar – Igokea 79-80
In real drama in Zadar, Igokea wins over hosts in pretty boring game. Igokea played better in first half, but Zadar woke-up in last 20 minutes and gave really hard time to Igokea. Finally, Igokea wins and improved its record to 4-3. With this defeat, Zadar dropped to 2-5 record, and heading deeper and deeper at ABA Adriatic league standings.
Szolnoki Olaj – Union Olimpija 62-71
Szolnoki Olaj failed to defend its home court against Union Olimpija and allow them to reach its first win so far in ABA Adriatic league regular season. Most of us expected that Szolnoki Olaj will win at home court, but it didn’t happen. Union Olimpija finally grabbed its first win and improved to 1-6 record. Szolnoki Olaj dropped to 3-4.
Cibona – Mega Vizura 98-96
Cibona stopped winning streak of Mega Vizura, but they needed overtime. Young and unexperienced team of Mega Vizura played better in most of this game, but at the end, they lost its patience and Cibona uses its chance to win. Cibona improved to 4-3 record, and Mega Vizura dropped to 3-4.
MZT Skopje – Krka 80-75
In not so interesting game in Skopje, MZT Skopje defended its home court and reached another one win. They improved to 3-4 record. With this defeat, Krka dropped to 3-4 record. MZT Skopje played better but Krka had its chances in last few minutes, but failed to use it.
Crvena Zvezda Telekom – Cedevita 73-59
In Game of the week, Crvena Zvezda Telekom easier than anyone expected wins over Cedevita and improved to 5-2 record. Cedevita didn’t play well, and didn’t even have chances in this game. Crvena Zvezda Telekom controlled game from the first second and looked pretty good on the court. Cedevita dropped to 5-2 record with this defeat.
Radnicki – Buducnost VOLI 72-86
Despite great first half, Radnicki failed at home, and with bad second half allowed Buducnost VOLI to celebrate in Kragujevac. It was amazing that Radnicki just stopped playing in second half, and Buducnost VOLI didn’t have tough goal to win. Buducnost VOLI improved its record to 5-2, until Radnicki dropped to 3-4.
Siroki Primorka – Partizan NIS 60-81
Partizan NIS came to Siroki with only one goal, to win, and they made it. Siroki Primorka played under expectations and for Partizan NIS it was as strong practice. Domination on the court, great game in both, offense and defense, gave another one win to Partizan NIS and improved their record to 6-1. With this win, Partizan NIS is leader in ABA Adriatic league. Siroki Primorka dropped to 2-5 record and will keep struggling in the rest of season.
