50th Anniversary of Wilt Chamberlain’s 100 Points

Fifty years ago, at March 2, 1962, one of the best NBA players ever, Wilt Chamberlain scored 100 points in Game when Philadelphia Warriors hosted the New York Knicks.
Wilt Chamberlain in this game had 36/63 from the field and pretty high percentage for free-throws 28/32, not typical for this player since he was known as not so good from free-throw line.
Even fifty years later, no one has reached 100 points in one game, so Wilt Chamberlain is still undefeated with this record.
In this 1961/62 season, Wilt Chamberlain had outstanding average of 50.4 points a game with 25.7 rebounds a game.
Too bad that we don’t have any videos from that time and especially from this game. I am sure that most of us would really enjoy to see some details about legendary NBA players, NBA games from that time, actually anything from that time that have any connection with basketball.
According to some sources, 4.124 spectators had a luck to watch this game in Sport Hall. Even, during years there were about 40.000 people that stated that they were on this game, and even that this game were played in Madison Square Garden, instead of Hershey, PA. Funny, huuh?
I wish I can say that I was there too, but unfortunately, I wasn’t even born in that time 🙂
