2012-13 Eurocup Quarterfinals, Game 2

eurocup basketball

Game 2 in Eurocup Quarterfinals will start today with only one game. Three other games will be played tomorrow, Wednesday, March 13.

Decisive games, after we will have four teams who will compete in Eurocup Semifinals. Semifinals will also be played in home and away format.

In Quarterfinals Game 1, I believe I can say that we had pretty expected results. Ratiopharm Ulm vs. Uxue Bilbao Basket 85-81, Spartak St. Petersburg vs. Budivelnik Kiev 83-72, Buducnost VOLI vs. Lokomotiv Kuban 54-72 and Valencia Basket vs. Unics Kazan 80-70.

I am sure that we can expect a lot of drama in at least three games, since I believe that Match-up between Buducnost VOLI and Lokomotiv Kuban is already decided.

Today, at 20.30 CET, Uxue Bilbao Basket will host Ratiopharm Ulm and will try to win with +4 or more and pass to Semifinals.

Tomorrow action will start early at 16.00 CET as Unics Kazan will host Valencia Basket. Unics Kazan is 10 points behind, but we will see if home court and supporters will help them.

Tomorrow at 16.30 CET, Lokomotiv Kuban will host Buducnost VOLI, in I guess not so interesting game since Lokomotiv Kuban have +18 from Game 1 and home court advantage in this Game 2.

I wish I am wrong regarding Buducnost VOLI, since they had pretty good season in Eurocup, and they are in good position in ABA Adriatic league to qualify to Final 4. But, this difference is too big, especially if you play against great team as Lokomotiv Kuban is.

Tomorrow at 18.00 CET, Budivelnik Kiev will host Spartak St. Petersburg and try to reach +11, to book a ticket to semifinals.

Even I don’t think it will be possible, it will be interesting to watch this game. Who knoes, maybe Budivelnik have some surprise for Spartak.

However, two days of good and exciting Basketball.
